Emergency Shelter Resources

Any facility designed to provide temporary shelter to the homeless or a specified population of the homeless. While Moab does not have a general homeless shelter, resources are available to assist with short-term, emergency shelter needs and crisis intervention.

HEAT Assistance Program

The HEAT Program provides year-round energy and water utility payment assistance for eligible low-income households throughout Utah.

Seekhaven Family Crisis Center

Seekhaven provides confidential services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Seekhaven’s emergency shelter is available to female and adolescent survivors. Off-site shelter may be available for male survivors in emergency domestic violence and sexual assault situations. 

Resources are available to survivors whether or not they are in need of emergency shelter. Housing and other advocacy services are available to assist individuals and families in obtaining safety and stability in their homes. Services are available to individuals in Grand, San Juan, and Emery County.

TANF Program

Short for ‘Temporary Assistance for Needy Families’, the TANF program assists families, with a dependent under age 18 living in the home, to obtain stable housing by providing rental deposits, rental assistance, rental backpay, and mortgage assistance. This program is supported through SEUALG (Southeastern Utah Association of Local Governments)
