What is the CROWN Program?
The CROWN Program is a Rent-to-Own program where participants rent a home for 15 years while developing home-ownership skills.
CROWN participants’ rent payments go towards the mortgage of their homes.
Families will have the option to purchase their home at the end of the compliance period (15 years) with the equity gained through their rent payments.
Rent amounts for CROWN homes are usually well below market rate, which offers an affordable rental period while the family gains home-ownership skills and equity.

At the moment, 13.
There are currently 5 CROWN homes in Moab (CROWN at Desert Wind), 4 in Blanding (CROWN at Pioneer Estates ) and 4 in Monticello (CROWN at Monticello).

3 and 4 bedroom homes.
Rent or Own

Call the Housing Authority of Southeastern Utah at 435-259-5891 to check on availability and ask to be put on the wait list.

66 people on the Moab interest list, 5 on the Blanding interest list, and 11 on the Monticello interest list.

Residency Restrictions
None.
Income Restrictions or Requirements
Income qualifications apply and vary by project.
To qualify, your gross annual income needs to be under 60% AMI (Area Median Income) based on your household size.
Tenants must adhere to income restrictions during their first year of tenancy only. Please see the cover pages of attached applications for these maximum incomes. There is no minimum income restriction.
Credit Score
No minimum credit score. However, prospective tenants should try to pay off any utility bills that are late or in collections before applying.
Age Requirements or Restrictions
Must be over the age of 18 years old.
Other Restrictions
Applicants must be permanent residents of the United States and hold a green card.
Does not accept ITINs in lieu of Social Security Card.
